Straight Razors
Straight razor shaving is an art and a skill. Unlike a safety razor, straight razors have just a single blade that you can resharpen again and again. This is much better for the environment, your wallet, and your skin—no one benefits from having 5 blades run over their face at the same time.
There are many different blade thicknesses, grinds, and steels on straight razors. But the most important thing is whether the steel is stainless or carbon. A stainless steel razor won’t rust, but is more difficult to resharpen. A carbon steel razor will easily resharpen and is favoured by professionals, but requires diligent maintenance to avoid rusting.
