The WUSTHOF Classic Chai Dao 7" is a Chinese-style chef's knife that captures the original Chinese design with WUSTHOF features. An ideal all-rounder, the Chai Dao is essentially a blend between a wide chef's knife and santoku, borrowing all the best parts from each to create this incredible tool. All function and finesse, its wide belly has a more pronounced curve than a typical chef's knife, allowing you to rock the knife much more as you slice to get an extremely thin mince or a rough chop with ease.
Short enough to control, but wide enough to get it all done, the extra width is ideal for folks with larger hands and for prepping larger piles of food. Its width is also perfect for scooping up ingredients from the cutting board and transferring them to a pan. Hollow-ground depressions alongside the edge creates air pockets that make it hard for starchy or wet foods to stick to the blade, so you can cut in one smooth, uninterrupted motion.
