The 5/8 inch DOVO 100 is an excellent straight razor for beginners and people who prefer a robust and straightforward blade. Completely equal to its counterparts in its quality, it’s the perfect introduction to traditional wet shaving. All surfaces of the straight razor are precisely finished by hand in several stages. The top and bottom of the tang are ribbed, so you always have it firmly under control even with wet or foamy fingers.

Blade steel: Carbon steel is what original straight razors were made of: it has a fine grain structure, is relatively easy to resharpen, and strops up very nicely! Most people who shave every day prefer carbon steel because of these properties. It’s easy to work with, day after day.

Blade grind: Full hollow grinds are more widely used and offer a thinner, more flexible edge that seems to contour to one’s face better. It is easier to sharpen quickly, and takes a finer edge than a half hollow grind.

Blade width: This 5/8” razor is the most common width of straight razors today. It has a good balance of maneuverability and blade heft for shaving one’s entire face and is quite easy to re-sharpen.
