Description
Also known as an Asian chef's knife, the Santoku is a multi-purpose vegetable that specializes in making thin slices in vegetables but can also be used for slicing, dicing, and mincing other ingredient and protein.
The Kumokage line is hand forged by Muneishi Hamono in Tosa, Japan, using a cutting core of Aogami #2 steel, a sought-after steel by knife makers known for edge retention and wear resistance. The name Kumokage is inspired by the beautiful damascus and kurouchifinish on the blade and means 'cloud shadow.' These rustically finished mild steel and iron Damascus clad knives have a solid middle to heavy weight feel yet are thin behind the edge. The octagonal teak handles are durable and comfortable in hand.
Due to the nature of handcrafting and traditional blacksmithing, each knife is unique and may have some cosmetic distortion or irregularities. This is expected and normal. Because these knives are handcrafted, they do not qualify for warranty services.
