The 220 grit Naniwa Traditional Stone is a super coarse stone that will quickly grind a new edge and work out nicks, cracks, or other imperfections. Use this coarse grade of stone only when you regular maintenance and finishing is not accomplishing the desired result. It's very coarse so will remove metal quite aggressively.
