Description

This traditional, Asian chef’s knife is known for its versatility. Designed to be your go-to knife in the kitchen, the Shun Dual Core 7” Santoku is shorter than a typical chef’s knife, but lighter and more easily maneuverable. Unlike most santokus, the Dual Core Santoku features a slight belly curve, allowing you to achieve a rocking cut and make kitchen prep go by quickly. This is the perfect knife to start off your collection, or enhance it.

Before Shun Dual Core, it was considered impossible to create layered Damascus from two different steels. But Shun has masterfully achieved the unachievable. Each Dual Core features 71 alternating layers of VG10 and VG2 super-steels, roll-forged together to create an exceptionally strong and beautiful knife. As you use the knife, the two steels wear at different rates, creating micro-serrations along the edge that keep the knife sharper for longer. A traditional, octagonal Pakkawood handle promotes comfort, a secure grip, and is shaped for ambidextrous use. Accompanied by a traditional Japanese wooden saya, or sheath.
