Description
First introduced in 1997, the original Spyderco Native quickly established itself as a benchmark in affordable, lightweight folding knives, featuring a patented reversible "barrel-bolt" pocket clip and made-in-USA craftsmanship. Responding to user demand for an extended version with enhanced ergonomics, Spyderco developed the Native Chief prototype in 1999, refining it over the years despite challenges with longer blades and lock mechanisms. The tipping point came with the development of the Native 5, which showcased advancements in lockback technology, paving the way for the realization of the Native Chief. Stretching the original design's length by about one-third, the Native Chief Lightweight maintains a slim profile with a fiberglass-reinforced nylon handle, boasting Bi-Directional Texturing for enhanced grip and a full-flat ground CTS-BD1N stainless steel blade with a non-reflective DLC coating, making it an ideal choice for tactical use.
