Description
The Boker M4 Sherman-Damast is an exceptional collector’s knife that blends historical significance with high-end craftsmanship. Inspired by the iconic American M4 Sherman tank, designed in 1940 and widely used throughout the Second World War, this knife pays tribute to one of the most influential armored vehicles in military history. Produced in nearly 50,000 units and operated by multiple Allied forces across every major theater of the war, the Sherman became a defining symbol of battlefield mobility and support. In cooperation with the Americans in Wartime Museum in Virginia, Boker has incorporated authentic material connected to restored Sherman tanks into this special project.
The knife features an 80-layer Damascus blade, hand-forged by Chad Nichols in a custom ladder pattern that evokes the tracks left by the tank across terrain. A ball-bearing opening system with thumb stud ensures smooth deployment, while a solid steel frame lock and Hinderer Lock-Stop provide secure and reliable handling. The design reflects the tank’s armored geometry, with a pivot screw inspired by its drive sprocket and a burlap Micarta handle shaped for ergonomic control and visual reference to military camouflage tones. A deep-carry clip and lanyard hole complete the build. Handcrafted in Solingen, each knife is delivered in a premium display case with a certificate of authenticity and individual serial number, with part of the proceeds supporting the Americans in Wartime Museum.
